Frequently Asked Questions

If I lose electricity, who is responsible and who do I call?

Your local utility still provides you with power, and is responsible for delivering it to your business. If you have a power outage, you call your local utility just as you do now.

Who would I call if I have a question about my bill?

Call us here at EarlyBird Power: (888) SO EARLY [763 2759]. We’re available to answer any billing, rate, or contract question you might have. Our commitment to you doesn’t end when you sign the contract. We want you to be completely satisfied with your reliable, low-cost service.

How will I be billed?

You will receive one bill for power generation from EarlyBird's most competitive supplier, and another bill for energy delivery from your utility company. Since the utility companies own the lines and deliver the power, they will always bill for this portion. EarlyBird Power will take the time to help you understand your bills and answer any questions you have.

Are EarlyBird cost savings available just for large industrial users, or can small businesses save too?

We can offer significant savings to any non-residential business. Contact us for a quote to see how much your business can save, regardless of its size.

Can I get EarlyBird Power services in my area?

We are available in any state that has deregulated energy.

Tell me more about deregulation. What does it mean?

Deregulation means that your state has decided it would be in the best interest of its citizens to end the utilities’ monopoly on energy procurement and allow competition. As we all know, competition means lower prices because various organizations are competing for your business. Monopolies have no incentive to lower costs.

In deregulated states, the utility companies still deliver the energy, but other companies are allowed to procure the energy from power plants and natural gas providers. When these procurement companies have lower overhead than the utilities (as we do!), money is saved. Additionally, money is saved through experienced, intelligent purchasing of power from the plants. We at EarlyBird keep our costs low, choose the best rates from our reliable, trusted partners, and pass the savings on to you.

Will I pay for power I don't use?

No. EarlyBird works with its suppliers to create a contract with no minimum usage.

Does it prevent me from installing renewable and efficiency improvements to my infrastructure?

Entering into a competitive supply contract does not preclude you from taking advantage of infrastructure improvements.

Will any meters or other hardware need to be replaced or added?

No. There are no physical changes that need to be made.

Will switching to EarlyBird Power change the reliability of my service?

No. The reliability of your electric service will remain as it was.

Will the local utility company treat me badly because I’m not buying directly from them?

The utility is indifferent and provides the same service to all of its customers.
